Welcome! What a joy to share Galway Bay with you. Though fiction, the story’s based on my own great-great-grandmother Honora Kelly. She escaped with her family from the Great Starvation of 1840’s Ireland and they helped turn Chicago from a frontier town into the City of the Century. I’m awed at the strength and resilience of our ancestors. We are all descended from people forced from their homes who turned the tragedy of exile into triumph by simply surviving. Please share your family story with me. If your roots are in Ireland I might be able to help you get more information. I’ve done a lot of research!
